SPRS Score
Also known as: NIST 800-171 score
A numeric score representing a contractor's NIST SP 800-171 implementation status, calculated by the DoD Assessment Methodology and posted in SPRS.
A SPRS score is a numeric value representing a defense contractor's NIST SP 800-171 implementation status. It is calculated using the DoD Assessment Methodology by starting at 110 and deducting 1, 3, or 5 points for each NIST SP 800-171 security requirement not fully met.
The possible range of SPRS scores is 110 (perfect) down to -203 (the worst possible). A score below 0 is possible and indicates significant security gaps.
The SPRS score is required for contract eligibility under DFARS 252.204-7019 and is the headline metric the DoD uses to assess supplier risk.
